Our Poison Candy range is a cream to powder and can be used as eyeshadows or body paints. All of the colours in this range are matte, leaving you with a smooth non-shiny finish. All of our cosmetics are made with loving care in New Zealand and contain no parabens, heavy metals, dangerous chemicals, palm oil, toxic ingredients, nano-particles, artificial fragrances, animal ingredients, gluten, carmine, ferric ferrocyanide or bismuth oxychloride.
- Banshee Cosmetics
Banshee Cosmetics were all about makeup with attitude, creating a range of natural products that let their customers unleash their wild sides. I worked closely with Banshee Cosmetics' owner Joni to develop the branding, artwork and packaging design for a new line of colourful eyeshadows and body paints.
My concept for Poison Candy twisted together the bright, fun colours of the new makeup with Banshee's darker brand message 'makeup to die for'. The artwork I designed was an homage to Halloween carnivals and fairgrounds with a gothic Victorian edge, featuring illustrations of lollipops in nine colours to match the makeup palette, with a dark, poisonous syrup oozing down the candies. The overall packaging was inspired by boxes of luxury chocolates. The final collection was packaged and presented with individual paper shells for each 'candy' palette, along with a custom 'flavour card' highlighting each of the palette colours.
Poison Candy was released to great fanfare and was a sell-out success for Banshee Cosmetics.
